DESCRIPTION:Viktor Frankl (1905–1997) was a Viennese psychiatrist who sur
 vived three years in Nazi concentration camps\, including Auschwitz\, losi
 ng his parents\, brother\, and pregnant wife. Out of that experience came 
 Man's Search for Meaning (1946)\, one of the most influential books of the
  20th century.\n\nPart memoir\, part reflection\, it asks the question: wh
 en everything is stripped away\, what keeps a person alive? Frankl's answe
 r — that we cannot always control our suffering\, but we can always choo
 se how we face it — emerged from what he witnessed among his fellow pris
 oners\, ordinary people enduring the unimaginable and still finding reason
 s to go on. Come read it with us and bring your own questions about suffer
 ing\, freedom\, and what makes a life worth living.\n\nNewer editions of t
 he book contains several parts. We will read the main part of the book\, c
 alled "Experiences in a concentration camp" and center the discussion arou

 a large group\, remember to leave room for everybody's voices to be heard.
  We read all sorts of philosophical texts\, some are easier and some are d
 ifficult. If you don't understand everything\, don't worry\, we will make 
 sense of it together. Our meetups are at a public café\, so if you partic
